Like in any other part of the world, Company Names must not offend, and respect local language, culture and faith. While there can be specific guidelines for specific types of business, a broad set of guidelines are:

  • The phonetic construct of the name should be such that it doesn’t sound offensive in Arabic
  • The name cannot have any references to Allah or anything related to him
  • If the company is named after you, the owner, your full name must appear in the company name
  • If the company is named after another person, that person must be either an owner or a partner as named in the company license document
  • The name cannot refer to any political, religious or sectarian groups
  • The name must be written as it is pronounced in the intended language (English or Arabic) and must not sound like its translation in another language
